What is WorldQuest?

The WorldQuest fundraiser is modeled after Academic WorldQuest (AWQ), the flagship educational program of the World Affairs Council of Montana. With more than 50 highschool teams from across Montana competing last year, it has become the 3rd largest AWQ competition in the nation. The WorldQuest fundraiser will follow the same format as Academic WorldQuest – teams competing to show their knowledge of global events.

How to play the game?

Gather a group of friends, co-workers, neighbors or relatives and form a team of 6 people who enjoy trivia. Then determine a captain and decide on a team name. Individuals, businesses, non-profits, and schools are encouraged to form teams. Don’t have a team of 6? Don’t worry, sign up individually and you will be placed on a team.

Questions with multiple-choice answers will be read and projected onto a screen and announced by the MC – similar style to ‘pub quiz’ . Categories will include current events, history, geography, international culture and customs and more. Teams will put their heads together to agree on an answer for each question and at the end of the program, judges determine the winning team. Awards will be presented to the teams with the highest scores and the “best team name.”

Try your luck at a few sample questions:

 Question 1:

Which country produces 70% of the world’s olive oil?
A) Turkey     B) Morocco    C) Greece     D) Syria

Question 2:

Which African country has exactly the same name as its capital city?
A) Djibouti     B) Namibia     C) Togo     D) Zimbabwe

Question 3:

This flag represents:

a) Japan   b) South Korea  c) Finland   d) Indonesia

Answers: 1) C, 2)A, 3)B

Come to this exciting new fundraiser and test your knowledge of the world!
